What does being on PrEP actually mean?

Just recently, I have had a couple of conversations with potential clients who presumed that because I advertise that I am on PrEP, I must offer a bareback service.

Firstly, for those of you who do not know what PrEP is, it is a medication that I take daily that prevents me from catching HIV. To get PrEP, I must be tested on a regular basis and the results must be HIV negative. I have been on PrEP for the last two years and got my most recent batch yesterday (11th Feb) after completing my sexual health tests with the NHS.

I take PrEP because I offer a service which includes sex and even though I NEVER provide a bareback service, this medication offers me a second defence against infection. This isn't about taking the medication so that I can offer a bareback service, this is all about taking it as a secondary precaution.

Please note that Prep DOES NOT protect against any other sexual health infection, it only protects against HIV so any escort advertising a bareback service because they are on PrEP has no regard for their own sexual health or yours.

My stance on bareback sex is simple, yes, the idea of it is horny and porn makes it look so much fun but the real life truth is that it comes with a high risk of infection... is it really worth it.

I have always been transparent about my sexual health, I take it very seriously. Don't forget, I do have a partner and I have a responsibility to him as well as myself and to you. I take my business and my relationship with my clients very seriously, no amount of money will ever persuade me to perform without a condom.

And finally, I know over the years I have lost clients because of my stance on bareback sex and do you know what, I am good with that because it's my body and my choice. Plus I know that me client base appreciate the steps that I take to make each experience as safe as possible.
