Hey guys and thank you for stopping by my journal, I haven't posted for a couple of weeks, mainly because I have been off for my Spring break. The intention was to write whilst I was away but then I decided to totally unplug for twelve days, no social media, no emails and no writing.
Just after Christmas, I booked to go to Lanzarote (Playa Blanca) for ten days which is a big thing for me. Taking nearly two weeks out of the business is a huge thing, I miss two weeks of clients, chances are they will see other escorts, will they return when I get back... you can see the dilemma. However, one thing that I no for sure is, that I do need time off to rest and recharge, that is exactly what this holiday was all about. I didn't unplug totally, I did still have my phone on so that I could handle enquires and take bookings for when I returned. I do have the most amazing clients, everyone I spoke to totally understood that I was away and respected that fact that I was having time off, thank you guys.
The holiday itself was amazing, the weather wasn't perfect due to a storm so we had about three days of windy weather but that changed and the remaining seven days were fab. It was a great time for me to relax, rest, enjoy some sun, good wine and plenty of great meals. I am not one for tanning after many bad experiences as a kid so I am happy in the shade with my book. Speaking of which, my holiday read was Likeable by Ferne Cotton and I cannot recommend it enough. I will write more about that another time. The holiday was great and I cannot wait to go back.
One thing that I have really tried to do this year, is build more of a work life balance. The way that I have done that is by working to an availability schedule and also a working schedule... I am available 1030am to 6pm but I work 8am to 8pm, answering calls, emails and messages. Between 8pm and 8am, my phone is usually off in order for me to have some downtime, spend time with my family and friends or to go out for dinner, shopping, gym etc. It really disappoints me when people don't respect my schedule and demand my time when I am not available and being shitty when I do not answer messages when they expect them to be answered, like 4am!!! Think of it like this... how you interact with me should be no different with how you interact with you barber. Would you message you barber at midnight demanding they message you back or you will find another barber? No. I doubt you would. Red flag behaviour is always noted and apologies are only accepted once, then it's game over.
I don't know about you but I LOVE Easter, it is such a lovely time of the year and a lot let stressful than Christmas. I love the longer days, the warmer weather, the blossom and just the general feel of this time of year... oh and I love Mini Eggs. Because I have had nearly two weeks out of the business, I am working this Easter and my availability is as follows:
Good Friday: 1030am to 6pm (virtual services only)
Easter Saturday: 11am to 2pm (incalls) 11am to 6pm (virtual services)
Easter Sunday: 8am to 6pm (virtual services only)
Easter Monday: 8am to 6pm (virtual services only)
Just before I sign off, I want to tell you about a few things that I am working on. One is a podcast. I have started to work on the format for podcast that I will host, the idea for it is great (even if I do say so) and I will pick up the pace with it now that I am back and hopefully start that in the Summer. I am also changing how I use Instagram, I am going to be using it for short videos talking about whats going on, being the industry and other things. Plus, I will be launching my Substack (finally) and it will be all about my twenty years in the business (not about my clients), the lessons I have learned etc. My Substack, Live To Tell, will launch at the end of April. Exciting times right?
Have a wonderful Easter and I cannot wait to catch up with you all soon.
